Recently, as part of my Project and Portfolio course at Full Sail
University, we were encouraged to pick our own project to work on for
the month, and just basically run with it.
“This Project and Portfolio course will unfold like a choose-your-own-adventure
experience, inviting you to reflect and redirect as it supports your growth and
development. Most of the activities are open-ended and designed to be
personalized. This will require you to make intentional individual choices about
where to apply your time and energy in support of your future career goals.”
The project I chose, was to revamp a bare bones website that I
hadn’t touched in quite some time. My intention was to add both a blog
and portfolio section to it, showcasing some of my previous work for
future employers. I also wanted to be able to share some original stories
and insights throughout my journey from creative writing student to
Washed-up, cigar smoking, alcoholic, disgruntled former TV Writer.
Although I may not quite be there yet as far as the alcoholic, or the
washed-up writer goes, but hey…we all need something to strive for.
As I pursue this Hunter S Thomson or William Goldman phase of my
life however, I do promise to at least try to keep the blog interesting…
maybe even provide the odd movie review. None the less, if you would
like to follow along to see which cliff I might eventually jump off
(Butch Cassidy and the Sundance kid reference), please hit sign up and
subscribe.
Have a great weekend all.
